Brand & Website Redesign

Get Fish Slapped

Get Fish Slapped is a marketing agency out of Florida. They needed a fresh take on their brand and an upgraded design that focused on user experience.

Old Brand Design

The previous brand was creative, but needed to be modernized and cleaned up.

  • The logo icon wasn't very legible and was too busy for print.
  • The brand colors were fun, but needed a small adjustment to the accent color to really bring this brand to life.
  • The brand lacked a brand pattern and other visual elements that would tie everything together and really establish a visual identity for their online presence and other marketing collaterals.

Upgraded Brand

I implemented a few changes and created new elements that brought the brand to life:

  • I made a teal color the main pop color and used that contrasted with a stark white background to make this brand jump off the screen.
  • I simplified the logo icon to improve readability and brand recognition.
  • I created a monoline fish pattern to use in the background of their website and other marketing materials to create some fun and break up the use of white.
  • I designed a series of icons that represent their services and animated them using a combination of After Effects and Lottie animation to implement them on their website.

The owner of Get Fish Slapped marketing was thrilled with the changes to the brand and the feedback has been positive from their audience. I was given the green light to implement the new brand changes into a new website design.

Old Site Design

The previous site design lacked in these areas:

  • The readability needed improvement.
  • The overall structure lead to poor user flow.
  • Keywords weren’t being utilized properly.
  • Lacked content & originality

Upgraded Site Design

What I improved:

  • Created above the folds that utilized keywords
and addressed user questions immediately.
  • Implemented a user flow planned out in Figma
and tested to increase conversion rate.
  • Added additional pages that spoke about each
service they offer in-depth to increase SEO and
further address user questions.

This upgraded site design helped with conversion rate and helped them to better connect with their audiences. The overall usability was improved through a thought-out flow and improving readability.
