You fill out a brief that tells me everything I need to know about your business, your target audience, and your market. This information allows me to create a strategic plan to appeal to your target audience.
I review the information provided in the brief you filled out and any branding or website assets that are being used. I research your market and your target audience and create a plan based on that research.
The fun begins: I go through my creative process to come up with a few directions we could go with your brand. Here is where we pick the overall look, feel, and voice.
With the information gathered in the previous three steps, I begin to develop your brand keeping these in mind:
The best part: you get to see your brand come to life.
Need adjustments? We go through 3 rounds of revisions before you get the final product.
You'll get a complete brand guideline as well as all brand assets.
This is dependent on your customized package, but most common assets are:
Logo Designs, social icons and graphics, mascots, patterns, and fonts.
A brand identity is a collection of visual assets such as patterns, images, the logo and its respective variants, and more. When these elements come together is creates a consistent visual identity that relates to your audience.
Logo design is the initial visual representation of your overall brand and makes an initial impression. Logo design is an important discipline, but doesn't achieve the desired result without a complete brand identity.
TipTree's initial logo and brand had a few issues.
There was a significant lack of consistency in their marketing materials which lead to confusion for their audience. In addition, their logo didn't communicate much to their target audience: musicians.
I stripped the overplayed script font and created a bold brand that included a vinyl record as their main brand image. I stripped down their brand assets and implemented a color palette with corresponding color use percentages.
Branding provided by a user experience designer allows you to align yourself with your target audience more efficiently and stand out in your market. I offer customized quotes that suite your business based on the brief that's been filled out.

Creating a modern logo that incorporated the following elements: state of Minnesota, soccer ball, and a wave. This needed to be simple enough to be seen well when printed on jersey’s and other merchandise.
I created a new landing page design that condensed long wordy paragraphs into call outs so the user could make better sense of what TipTree had to offer. I re-designed the overall flow of the site to guide the user into signing up for the platform, rather than overwhelming the user with too much information that wasn’t properly organized.
This was a brand re-design done pro bono and no data was collected. The design has been well received by the community and I was issued a very enthusiastic “thank you” from the club.
Create a brand that is bright, fun, with bit a humor. They wanted a cartoon-style mascot logo and a brand that would turn heads when implemented on their food-truck design.
I created a cartoon of a chicken with an aviator helmet, bursting through a backdrop. Their colors are bold - orange, yellow, bright blue, and deep maroon. These created high contrast, perfect for a food truck. I completed this with a bold slab-sans-serif font that screamed “come and get it” and a fun, script font that kept it casual.
This was a custom brand and mascot. It’s been nearly three years and the food-truck is going strong. They’ve won the title “best of the west, wing fest” and have continued utilizing this brand to sell their best mother-cluckin’ wings.
TipTree.io wanted to better communicate who they are and what solutions they offered their audience. They offer a subscription based platform for musicians that allows musicians to collect tips, create landing pages, and utilize email marketing to communicate with fans. They want this to be a seamless platform that improves musicians lives and gives them more time to do what they love, play music.
I scraped the entire design created by Bullseye Media. Their new site design is branded properly and shows the technology they talk about, rather than showing images that had nothing to do with their business. We focused on providing information based on research to improve their conversion and the overall visual design. Their target audience: PT Clinicians.
Since launching their brand-redesign coupled with their landing page re-design (also performed by me) they reported a 22.6% increase in conversion after doing an A/B test of their old brand and site against the re-design.
Canva has it's place in the design world. It's great for quick social media designs to speed up the process of creating posts.
When it comes to logo designs, it fails it's customers. By creating your logo in Canva, you give up the ability to truly own your logo and to trademark it. This is due to licensing issues.
Aside from the inability to truly own your logo, you will likely have a logo that blends into the many that are turning to this platform. This means you won't have a logo that stands out in your market, and you likely won't be connecting with your target audience.
Essentially, you'll be one of many with a generic design trying to break through the noise. It's better to save yourself the headache of a redesign; hire a professional.
If you are looking for a redesign, either of the packages I have created would work well for this.
Creating a brand identity typically takes between 2 - 4 weeks; this is dependent upon the package you've chosen, and the client response time.
This timeline begins after our Discovery Call and the brand questionnaire is completed.
If you are looking to make a splash with your new business or need to revamp a current one, I suggest subscribing to AMUX. You will be able to get a full brand created, a website designed and developed, as well as any marketing materials you want to announce your brand and make some noise.
The best part? You can pause or cancel as soon as the project is complete.
User experience design is the study of how a user interacts with a physical or digital product. Studies show, users are more likely to invest in products / services from brands that invest in UX Design as it provides better usability and ease of use.
With a return rate of up to $100 for every $1 spent on UX - it's hard to argue against investing in UX.
For my ambitious clients with multiple businesses, I suggest taking advantage of the design subscriptions I offer.
The best part? You can pause or cancel at anytime.
I want you to love your brand. Even more so, I want your audience to love your brand. I've curated a process that gets us on the same page with the direction of your brand; each package comes with two rounds of revisions.
